“I’m On an Island” (video) – CT w. Rikki Bates, John Clark, and Ken Field. Shot at Babyland, May 22, 2020, by Bob n b n Tony n Ginger. When I first started playing w Steve Shook about 50 years ago in the hallowed halls of 700 Comm. Ave. at Boston University, he new the changes to every Beatles song and every Kinks song, even the really obscure ones, and that’s where I first heard “I’m On an Island.” Bruce Maclean shot another fun version of this for his show “I’m Not Fishing” back in the late nineties, which he recently revived, and it has been fun seeing a lot of that stuff again. If you want to know what was going on here on Cape Cod in the nineties, “I’m Not Fishing” is definitely the place to go- it’s available on his facebook page in the video section (look for a nice long one, those are the best!) You can also find the earlier version Bruce shot of me doing “I’m On an Island” accompanied by Dinty Child and Tim Dickey by itself on youtube (ah, nostalgia!).
