Still Kickin’

Still Kickin’” – the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, recorded by Chris Blood at Trout Towers, 2004-ish – May, 2020, mixed by Rikki Bates

This one, like “Grand Rt. St. John” from “Waving Kissyhead“, was written with my New Orleans family very much in mind after Katrina, and like “Up To Your Neck“, is from about an album’s-worth of stuff we started at Trout Towers around 2004 and kept adding to and fiddling with through about 2008. The Casuals played it a bit, too, but neither band played it for long; among other things, it features some fairly fabulous zydeco electric bass playing from John Styklunas, and was meant as a bit of encouragement and solidarity in hard times, and, whaddaya know? -here’s more of ’em!

Excellent as always, Maestro – and yes, very cool electric bass from John S!
