Bocce & Bourbon Fest Tonight!

Bocce & Bourbon Fest Tonight!” -the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, recorded live at the Cotuit Center For the Performing Arts, March 14, 2015 by Fred Boak with sound board portion mixed by Tom Tracy and Colin Leach.

A lot of times I’ll just get so up for some gig that I’ll write something a day or two before it, and then beg and plead with everyone to play it right away, even though the rest of the band has either just barely heard it or hasn’t heard it at all, and it’s too soon even for me to know how it should come out yet. It’s just so exhilarating to have something new and chance-y, and sometimes it’s great and sometimes you go down in flames.

This one was a little of each, but mostly great fun. I really am psyched about the new record, and always so happy to be playing in lovely theatrical venues like Cotuit and the Wellfleet Harbor Actor’s Theater, those are really just about my favorite kind of gig (aside from pancake houses, drive-ins, beaches, the Wellfleet Beachcomber, and some of the other wackier situations we occasionally find ourselves in.)

We oughtta have this one down waaay better by next Saturday at WHAT
