“Vasco Da Gama“- Chandler Travis Philharmonette at Bubala’s Sept. 11, 2014, recorded by The Valet (aka Fred Jodsworth T. Boak); attending June Trailer Dancers: Berke McKelvey and Ken Field.
This is one of the songs we play most live, and is pretty much a guaranteed good time (in the sense that anything involving the Philharmonette can be thought of as “guaranteed”.) Nice percussion from Ken Field (aka Hoot Fieldling), who made himself absolutely indispensable in August when we lost Berke for a few weeks due to the demands of his theatrical schedule, for which I’m extremely grateful… don’t know what he’s doing in addition to the shaker part, but I hope he remembers to do it again.
This is a spirited, silly performance of a foolish song that I hope might be fun if you’re already in a good mood; if you’re not, you might wanna wait…
