Second (Line) Parade – or “Let’s Have a Parade, Part 2”

Cliff (Sue LaVallee)

Tada!

We promised you a second part to our Chatham, MA 4th of July parade “Song of the Weak!!!” and as you can see now … we weren’t lying.

But what more is there to say that I didn’t say already last week?  We’re still hunting for more photos and videos (hell, ANY videos) of us in the parade.  We have a few new photos this week thanks to Sue LaVallee of the Ticks and Becky Mandible, plus we found a few over at the Cape Cod Today website.  If you know anyone from Chatham, MA or who might have been at the parade, please ask ’em if they have any pics or vids of that crazy band, OK?

Thanks.

This half of the parade song mix features two snippets of the Dixie Cups song “Iko Iko” plus some from “Second Line,” “It’s Time to Make a Change,” “Tootie Ma is Big Fine Thing,” before closing with a section of a Chandler original “Grand Route St John.”

As with the first half, what you hear here was recorded by me, the Valet, in the middle of the parade – on a digital recorder that I had mounted on the top of a walking stick.  I was moving around the band, so  at times some instruments are louder than others.

I’m looking for a rift in the space-time continuum so I can attend this sacred event…
