EASTHAM — He lives in Eastham and has spent most of the winter on tour in New England and places south with one or another of his several bands, such as the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, the Incredible Casuals and for this gig, the Chandler Travis Philharmonette. And yes, you guessed it, we’re talking about Chandler Travis who will swing his thing — a guitar, just to clarify — Saturday at the First Encounter Coffee House, 220 Samoset Rd. in Eastham, when the gang will play, as they say, “who knows what,” but probably a lot of “Dixieland-omnipop.”
Those of you familiar with the man and his bands know the unknown and unexpected are the mantra when it comes to their sounds. In fact, Travis, who claims over 30 full-length CDs to his credit, says, “Our stuff is not satirical, it’s just silly and blissful. We specialize in joyful stuff.” And they hand it out with a lot of laughs, goofs and just plain fun.
Show time is at 8 p.m. Tickets at the doors, which open at 7:30 p.m. when there will be free coffee from the Chocolate Sparrow, are $15.
