The Chandler Travis Philharmonic joins Gordon Gano (Violent Femmes), Jordan Valentine & the Sunday Saints, The Ticks, Sidewalk Driver, and many others for a full afternoon and evening of food, drinks, rock, soul, reggae, alternative dixieland and general merriment to benefit Women of Fishing Families. Fest starts at 1 pm; CTP should go on around 7:30.

The Wellfleet Boogie features live music, arts & crafts, food, raw bar, beer & wine, activities for kids, and much more. It all takes place on Saturday, September 11 from noon to dark. Featured bands include DanceFight (funk/jam/jazz), The Catbirds w/Chandler Travis, Steve Wood, Dinty Child and Rikki Bates (roots/rock'n'roll), Mike Martin Y Los Rootsticks (reggae), The Grab Brothers (classic rock'n'roll), The Dave Sammarco Band (country/rock), and a special performance just for kids by the Elbows. The event is a benefit for Friends of Wellfleet Recreation, a nonprofit 501(c)-3 organization that helps provide scholarships, uniforms, trip expenses, cultural opportunities, and other resources to young people in the Wellfleet area who otherwise could not afford them.

The Benefit the Bayou Fundraiser -
In order to help and show solidarity with the fishing communities of the Gulf who have been so deeply impacted by the recent BP oil catastrophe, a musical fundraiser is being organized by the fishing communities of outer Cape Cod. The event will feature a performance by renowned New Orleans pianist and singer Henry Butler, and will open with the Chandler Travis Trio and a short reading by local author Heidi Jon Schmidt. The concert will be broadcast live from Provincetown's community radio station, WOMR and live streamed on the internet with WOMR's sister station, WWOZ in New Orleans. All funds that are raised at the concert and by pledges phoned into the stations during the simulcast will be donated to the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, who support and purchase Gulf Saver Bags (these bags are designed to help remediate and restore the wetland coast of the gulf region that has been devastated by the BP oil disaster), and to the Gulf Relief Foundation - an organization started by WWOZ in New Orleans that dispenses funding to well run local charities that have been focusing on the humanitarian aspects of this disaster.
